Bullocks

Most of the day spent at MUAC (Museo Universitario Arte Contemporaneo) where we are co-organizers of a two-day conference about the Role of Museums in the 21st Century. Its subtitle is actually Catedra Extraordinaria William Bullock which refers an early 19th Century British collector who visited Mexico twice in 1822 & 1827. The collections he brought back and presented at the Egyptian Hall in central London was the first exhibition of its kind in Britain.
The conference itself was interesting, with speakers from Leicester, Newcastle, Sao Paulo, Madrid and Mexico City. The main theme seemed to be that it's not just about flashy hi-tech interactive displays. Good, creative, conventional story-telling also has its place.
